What customers say?

“ The chicken yakitoris are so great. But the recommended dishes is not my favorite. and English menu available ”

“ Great food, service and cosy atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and enthusiastic! English menu’s and no trouble clarifying menu items. The only downside for me was not being able to try a greater selection of the menu. Be aware it is a smoking establishment, so carefully select a place to sit. Being so close to Nara station is a plus too! Would definitely go back. ”

“ Tori Tamura is definitely the place to go for chicken in Nara. Located about 2 minutes from the Nara JR station. The izakaya has 2 floors - the first floor has tables and counter top seating and the 2nd floor can accommodate larger parties. It had a great atmosphere and nice decor to it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - service with a smile. The food was amazing - ordered many things and pretty much everything was delicious. I really liked the negi tori (green onions and chicken), spring rolls, deep fried cheese, gobo fries, sticky potatoes, chicken wasabi, chicken wings, pork belly, mini hamburgs and garlic & chicken. They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks, including Heartland beer (one of my favourite beers in Japan). There is an English menu available, but some of the “specials” are in Japanese only - will need to use Google translate if you can’t read Japanese. Will definitely be back again soon… enjoy ”

“ Lovely place near Nara station. The food was very nice! I highly recommend going here if you love meat. The chicken Karage was the best karage I have every tasted!!! The service was fast and helpful. From the bar you can see them make the food so that is super nice! I recommend making a reservation or going early to be secure about a table, because they were almost fully booked. ”

“ Very good food and sake, some fish mostly beef dishes and a kind of omelettes seen to be their speciality. Very limited English menu. ”

- K.-H. Herrmann -

“ Great yakitori and friendly service! My favourites: karaage momo (fried chicken legs), chicken heart, uzura (quail eggs) and bacon (see more in the menu pic) Prices were very reasonable too - about ¥1,500 per pax without alcohol They have an English menu and staff who speak English well. It seemed well-loved by Japanese too, cause we appeared to be the only tourists around. ”

“ Not too crowded when we visited on a weekday for dinner. Yummy chicken. The char grilled chicken was a bit tough but had a good taste to it. ”
